This 42,000 square foot project awarded Michelle Carroll of Old World Designs, Club House of The Year Award from Golf Inc. Magazine. Michelle was on this project with Douglas Fredrikson Architects from its conception through completion and grand opening. This beautiful golf course community facility offers an Award Winning Club House and Golf Shop, Day Spa and Fitness Center, Locker Rooms, Pool, 200 Seat Banquet facility and Steak House Restaurant that Michelle designed down to the crockery. Architect Douglas Frederikson was thrilled with Michelle’s design idea of an old mining theme due to the location and history of the area, Bullhead City, Arizona. One of the main halls in the club house actually gives you the feeling of being in a refined mine shaft, “ but no golf course is complete without its last hole, which your golf cart actually goes under the building and makes you feel like you are in a mine shaft”. Michelle found mining antiques all over AZ, down to old telegraph casings that she turned into a wall of candelabras in the spa. “I love using something you would never think of as something decorative, one of a kind and special to the space”! “All the furniture is custom designed and reflects casual western elegance with a mining twist!” Michelle says, “I’ve had the pleasure of traveling with European friends and clients to some of the most beautiful golf courses in Scotland ie: Locklomand, St. Andrews and Dornoch, but when I took them to play at Laughlin Ranch they said, “European club houses while beautiful are similar in style, but this is warm, welcoming, has historic uniqueness and is our favorite, truly one of a kind”.
